The Peachtree Corners Garden Club and Peachtree Farm

The Peachtree Corners Garden Club believes gardening is a way to connect people, strengthen our community, and create opportunities to learn and serve. Our relationship with Peachtree Farm is one example of that mission in action.

Peachtree Farm is a nonprofit urban farm in Peachtree Corners that uses agriculture to provide meaningful work, vocational training, and community opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Participants develop practical skills and independence through growing plants, caring for the farm, preparing products, and interacting with customers.

PTC Garden Club members have supported Peachtree Farm through both service and education. Members have participated in the Peachtree Corners Farmers Market, bringing plants and gardening awareness to the community, and have volunteered at the farm's plant sale. Club members also had the opportunity to learn from Joe Twiner, PTC Farms’ executive director, about Peachtree Farm's programs and the important role agriculture can play in providing gainful employment, independence, and purpose.

At Peachtree Farm, growing plants helps grow opportunity. Through its partnership with the farm, the Peachtree Corners Garden Club helps grow something else as well: stronger connections between gardening, education, and our community.
